Artist Statement
Giulia's artworks combine a poetical approach to everyday life with a sincere, disenchanted look at social and environmental topics.

The Venetian colourism meets the Nordic Expressionism, the study of light inlets the Chiaroscuro in the environmental atmosphere of North Europe’s intimacy. The installation “Punto. Volume. Massa.”, originally conceived for Festivaletteratura 2020 in Mantua, became a cultural manifesto for a more sustainable society, able to involve also visually impaired people in the social dialogue. With the group of sculptures “The woman at the centre”, unifying the respect for the women and for the forces of the nature, the artist critically reviews anachronistic stereotypes of the classical iconography via positive examples, thus physically representing the much-desired change of social attitude with new sculptural poses and postures.
Artist Bio
Giulia Simeoni is a multi-disciplinary figurative artist, physicist, dramaturg and author.

She has completed High-school Humanistic studies, PhD in Physics, Foundation diploma in classical painting and drawing, Master in Cultural Management, apprenticeships of printmaking and sculpting, and post-diploma studies in documentary filmmaking and theater.

She has been Awarded Honorable Mention at the juried Exhibition “Spiel Allein” in London (2022), the international Academic Prize of Aesthetics “Apollo Dionisiaco” in Rome (2021), and special mention of the critic at the International Festival DeSidera in Trieste (2021).

She has been featured in Canadian and Belgian art collectors’ magazines.
